Organic Chemistry Tutor - An Introduction to Chemical Kinetics
Organic Chemistry Tutor - An Introduction to Chemical KineticsThe Organic Chemistry Tutor chemical kinetics theory describes how a person gets something out of a chemical reaction. It also describes the way in which chemicals react in a simple manner. Chemistry is an amazing science, and it has been studied and explained for a long time now.Chemical kinetics is an extension of the classical chemical equilibrium. It is used in place of equilibrium theory and other equations in molecular and cell biology. In chemistry, the chemical interactions that occur at the molecular level are referred to as chemical equilibrium. This simply means that the equilibrium will always be the same, depending on the types of molecules involved in the reactions that take place.Chemical kinetics applies to reactions that take place at the level of molecules. The basic reaction of molecular attraction and repulsion between molecules is called bond formation, while the other interactions involve electron tra nsfer. It is useful for chemical modeling. In the realm of the chemical kinetics, we can divide the process of equilibrium into two types. The first type includes the chemical reaction that takes place in the simple substance like water. In this type, there is a set of reactions that involve two molecules, including water molecules. There is another chemical reaction called the chemical equilibrium.Chemical equilibrium states that the amount of energy is conserved. This is quite a basic concept, but this has been the most commonly applied in the world of chemistry. The third type of equilibrium involves the system of chemical reaction that involves a number of substances, such as amino acids. These three types of equilibrium are the three main types of the chemical kinetics. Each type has its own advantages and disadvantages. Let us look at some of the advantages of these types of equilibrium, and then compare these to the free energy as an example. The first type of chemical equilibri um allows us to calculate the free energy (E) of a given chemical reaction, and this is useful for determining the various factors that affect the E. In other words, chemical kinetics gives us an insight into the quantitative and qualitative aspects of chemical reactions.

Studying French Verbs Le Futur Antérieur
Studying French Verbs Le Futur Antérieur Suzy S. If youve studied French verbs for a while, you probably know about le présent, le passé composé, limparfait, et le futur. You may also know something about reflexive verbs and verbs of motion, and their particularities in the passé composé. You may even be familiar with le passé simple. What happens, though, when you want to describe an action that hasnt happened yet, but that will be complete before a particular action or time in the future? In English, we use the future perfect tense to describe this. For example: 1) I will have done my homework by the time I go to sleep. 2) The construction will be finished before school starts. 3) They will have left for the concert before my friend arrives. In French, the equivalent tense is the futur antérieur, or the anterior future. Like the future perfect in English, it defines a particular point in time in the future and looks back towards (but not past) the present. The sentences above would, using the futur antérieur, translate to: 1) Jaurai fait mes devoirs avant que je mendors. 2) La construction sera fini avant la rentrée. 3) Ils seront partis pour le concert avant que mon ami arrive. The construction of this tense is very similar to the passé composé. In the futur antérieur, there are the same two parts: The auxiliary verb (avoir or être) and the past participle. Choose the auxiliary verb in the same way as you would for the passé composé. It will usually be avoir, unless the main verb is a verb of motion or a reflexive verb. In those cases, use être. Now instead of conjugating the auxiliary verb in the present tense, conjugate it into the future. Here is a review of their future forms: avoir être j aurai je serai tu auras tu seras il / elle / on aura il / elle / on sera nous aurons nous serons vous aurez vous serez ils / elles auront ils / elles seront Now form the past participle in the same way you would for passé composé. Remember to check for gender and number agreement if the auxiliary verb is être. Then put the two together, and you have the futur antérieur. Look back at the examples above in French to see if you can recognize how the verb was formed. Then look at the examples below: 1) Tu auras assisté au concert quand jarrive. 2) En août, je serai restée a San Francisco depuis cinq ans. 3) Ils auront rendu leurs livres à la bibliotèque avant la fin de lannée. Now try a few of your own. 1) Elle _________________ (marcher) cinq kilometres tous les jours cette semaine. She will have walked five kilometers every day this week. 2) Quand nous arrivons, ils _________________ (cuisiner) un repas delicious. When we arrive, they will have cooked a delicious meal. 3) Apres nous vacances cet été, nous _________________ (aller) en cinq pays différents. After our vacation this summer, we will have gone to five different countries. 4) Tu _________________ (se laver) avant 8h si tu veux partir a lheure. You will have washed yourself before 8am if you want to leave on time. Now check your answers : 1) aura marché 2) auront cuisiné 3) serons allé(e)s (Use the extra âeâ only if you are imagining a group with all girls.) 4) te seras lavé(e) (Like #3, use the extra âeâ only if you imagine you are speaking to a girl in this sentence.) If your passé composé and future tenses are solid, hopefully this wasnt too difficult. If you did well on the first two but missed #3 or #4, consider also whether or not this was due to a need to review verbs of motion or reflexive verbs. If you are doing well, now that you have an introduction, try using the passé antérieur as you speak and write with your friends, classmates, and colleagues. This can be done in several ways. Firstly, you can move closer towards the object so that it takes up a larger portion of t he frame. You can also reduce the depth of field around the object in order to soften the background. Focussing on your object will also blur the background.Experiment with repeated patterns: Patterns of objects or motifs are pleasant to look at â" so make the most of them! The patterns you find might include wire fencing (which can be used as a frame for landscape photography), a field of identical flowers or a cluster of similar tower blocks. Your photograph can be made more interesting if you include something which interrupts the pattern. For example, this could be a window with a different colour frame to the rest.Symmetry: This rule demands a high level of attention to detail when it comes to choosing a subject and its frame. Your subject might be a solitary object placed at the very centre of your image (such as a monument at the end of road, for instance). Your Guide on How to Learn Cantonese. Youâll be Speaking Cantonese in No Time! ChaptersWhy Learn Cantonese? How to Speak Cantonese. In conversations about learning Cantonese, youâll have probably heard the commonly expressed sentiment and caution: âitâs really hardâ. However, more often than not, the people who are telling you this donât really know a thing â" and have never even tried to learn the language themselves. So, donât let this put you off. This caution should never be used as a reason not to learn. Because youâll be giving up before youâve even started. But, if weâre being honest, sure learning Cantonese is hard. But it neednât be any harder than any other new language in which you want to develop your conversational fluency. Sure, the traditional characters are different. Sure, the tonal language is unfamiliar. And, sure, it will take a little while to get proficient with the pronunciation. But thatâs all part of the challenge. Here, we are going to look at the easiest way for you to become more fluent in the Cantonese language. W e can assure you that it wonât be as hard as you think it is.So, take a deep breath â" and letâs dive in. Thatâs where it originated (hence the name âCantoneseâ, after Guangzhouâs old anglophone name, Canton) â" and thatâs where it continues to be spoken, alongside Hong Kong and Macau where it is an of ficial language.Alongside these regions, it is also spoken in Guangxi and is used as a lingua franca among much of southeast Asia â" such as in Vietnam and Malaysia particularly. Right now, there are about sixty million native speakers of Cantonese â" however, these are slowly declining as speakers are preferring to learn and use languages like Mandarin Chinese. These numbers are equivalent to the number of native speakers of Italian. And, in a world in which many other languages in mainland China are going extinct, the people of Guangzhou seem to be determined to keep their language going. You'll be speaking Cantonese in no time!Culture and Cantonese. One of the great reasons to learn Cantonese â" beyond the fact that, like learning any foreign language, it is supremely good for you â" is that the language is at the heart of all things Hong Kong.Language and culture are always inextricably linked. And to enjoy the many joys of Hong Kong culture, itâs a shame not to have any language skills. The Hong Kong pop music scene â" or Cantopop â" is huge. And, whilst it has been much more influential in the past, it still produces a lot of hits. If you have any familiarity with Leslie Cheung, Alan Tam, or Anita Mui, it would be good to understand what they are singing about, no?The same goes for cinema. With the Hong Kong film industry being one of the largest in the world â" with stars such as Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee â" Cantonese was given massive cultural clout across the globe. As we said, beyond the fact that a second language is just a really important thing to have in your life, learning Cantonese opens up a world of culture that would otherwise go underappreciated. How to Speak Cantonese. We said that to learn to speak Cantonese is no more difficult than learning a language in general. Itâs not. Yet, language learning does have one major challenge: itâs not that learning the language is hard, but that committing the time to study is. When we are working full time or at school, itâs not always the easiest thing in the world to sit yourself down in the evening to concentrate hard. But this, first of all, is precisely what you need to do.Put the Time Aside.Without a deliberate time set aside to commit to another language, you will never achieve what you hope to achieve. This, unfortunately, is an indisputable fact.People who say, âah yes, I want to learn Cantoneseâ, have not really achieved anything. The first sign of progress â" and the sure-fire way to future fluency â" is really to have that allotted time. This can be daily, this ca n be twice weekly, depending on how quickly you are hoping to improve. However, with the number of different things that language acquisition requires â" learning the Chinese characters to nailing the pronunciation, learning new words to engaging with the grammatical aspects of the language â" the more often the better. So, commit to regular time slots. Be realistic â" just as long as you keep it regular. Practice reading Cantonese!Donât Worry Too Much about the Cantonese Script â" at First. The most commonly intimidating thing about learning the Chinese languages is the Chinese script. Usually, anything with a script that isnât roman â" from Cyrillic to Arabic â" inspires frowns and mutterings of âoh dearâ.The Cantonese script is pretty much the same as in standard Mandarin, using both the simplified and traditional forms. (However, Mandarin and Cantonese remain two mutually unintelligible languages.)And itâs true, learning to read and write Chinese characters is hard. So hard, in fact, that many Chinese people donât do it either. But this is precisely the point: you donât need to learn the characters to begin with.Learn just the Romanised versions. Itâs much easier â" and better for your confidence â" to practice the spoken forms first, and then return to the written text when you have a grasp of what you are doing.Learn more about reading Cantonese!Nail the Cant onese Tones. The other notorious thing about Cantonese â" and Chinese language learning in general â" is the tones. In English, we canât seem to understand the fact that a vowel could be said six different ways. However, strangely enough, thatâs exactly what we do in English too â" it just doesnât change the semantic content of the words. There are six types of tone: dark flat, dark rising, dark departing, light flat, light rising, light departing. In the Romanized written form, you will see these respectively numbered from one to six.The easy way to learn these is with a tone chart, which diagrams the respective sounds you need to make. Learn it by heart â" and thatâs another thing cracked.Fill Your Life with Cantonese. With your phonetics covered, you now need to fill your life with Cantonese. Letâs call this language immersion â" although you are still in the UK.That means listening to Cantonese radio, watching Cantonese movies and TV, and reading as much Cantonese con tent as possible. The latter will come later, as you slowly begin to integrate knowledge of the written language into your learning. Yet, the point here is that, to get to grips with a language, you need to live it and breathe it!That means using language apps like Babbel, Duolingo, or Memrise on the bus to school or the commute. Alternatively, it means writing down new words and phrases onto flashcards so that you can practice them and memorise them at any time.Set Goals â" and Achieve Them. One of the key methods by which to learn another language â" or indeed, to learn anything â" is to set yourself goals and work towards them.Goals work by directing your focus and your attention: with something to aim for, and a set date by which to achieve it, youâre much more likely to get moving. So, think about it. Set a date by which you will have nailed the phonetic aspect of the language: the tones, the vowels and consonants. Set another date by which you will be able to learn Chinese characters â" at least a few of them. And set another date by which you want to have your first dialogues to practice your spoken language.Without some decent goals, you may well end up just practising what you know already â" and not improving at all.Learn about writing in Cantonese! The world is full of language we take for granted - learn it!Be Interested by the Language: Speak about What Interests You.When trying to speak in Cantonese, or when trying to listen to a particular radio station, or whatever, you need to make sure that the subject under discussion is actually interesting to you. This is not so banal or obvious as it seems. So many language classes use material that is completely uninspiring for many students and so leaves them uninspired. If you are interested in sport, why would you want to listen to a show about makeup? If you work as a lawyer, why are you trying to learn the language of an electrician?Finding something to talk about that is interesting to you will make you want to continue learning. And youâll pick up the language that you actually need rather than that which you feel you should know.Learn more about developing your Cantonese vocabulary.Find a Cantonese Tutor â" or a Native Speaker to Practice with. Finally, there is no better t o way to learn a new language than to talk to someone who is fluent.Whether this is a friend, a girlfriend, a complete stranger at a language exchange class, or a private tutor, a native speaker will bring your spoken Cantonese on leaps and bounds. As long as they (and you!) are patient, and you do it regularly, this will be the best time to improve your productive language skills.
Basic Algebra Review
Basic Algebra Review A significant branch of mathematics which consists of numbers, letters, and mathematical symbols in order to express mathematical expressions, equations and formulas is called as Algebra. In basic algebra different mathematical formulas and methods are used to solve the given equations. Some algebraic expression even consists of complex numbers, vectors etc. Example 1: Given is a basic algebraic equation, 8z 6 = 10. Solve the equation to get the value ofz. To solve for z, we have to add/subtract few terms on both sides of the equation. Add 6 on both sides to balance the equation 8z 6 + 6 = 10 +6 Cancel the -6 and +6 on the left side. Combining the like terms, we get: 8z = 16 Divide 8 on both sides of the equation. 8z/8 = 16/8 z = 2 The answer is: z = 2. Example 2: Given is a basic algebraic equation, 10y + 1 = y + 28 Solve the equation to get the valueof y. To solve for y, we have to add/subtract few terms on both sides of the equation. Subtract y on both sides to balance equation 10 y + 1 -y = y + 28 -y Now, combine the like terms, this gives 9y + 1 = 28 Subtract 1 on both sides 9y + 1 - 1 = 28 - 1 Combine the like terms 9y = 27 Divide 9 on both sides:9y/9= 27/9 The answer is: x = 3.
